Auburndale boys basketball nails 11 3-pointers to down Colby in season-opener

AUBURNDALE – Caden Weinfurter drilled six 3-pointers and scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Auburndale boys basketball team to a 60-44 win over Colby in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.

The Eagles, playing their season-opener, went 11-for-24 from 3-point range, as Blake Raab added three long balls and 11 points. Kaden Anderson chipped in 13 points and a team-best eight rebounds in the victory.

Joseph Streveler had a game-high 18 points for Colby, which falls to 1-1.

Auburndale hosts Abbotsford as part of a girls-boys Marawood Conference crossover doubleheader on Friday. The girls game starts at 5:30 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:15 p.m.
