Marshfield Columbus Catholic’s Elizabeth Manlick earns special qualifier spot for WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tournament

KOHLER – Marshfield Columbus Catholic senior Elizabeth Manlick lost her first match at the WIAA Division 2 girls tennis sectional on Thursday, but was named as a special qualifier in the No. 1 singles brackets on Friday.

Manlick falls to 18-3 with the loss (results were not provided) and was named as one of the extra eight qualifiers added to the WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tourament field.

Manlick will play Jenna Zimmerman of Racine St. Catherine’s (24-5) in a first-round match at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The winner advances to a second-round match on Friday morning.

The state tournament will be held at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison on Oct. 11-13.

It will be Manlick’s fourth-straight state tournament appearance.
