STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield boys swim team finished fourth out of five teams at the Panther Invitational on Saturday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Michael Kruse took third in the 50 butterfly (27.23 seconds) and Brian Engel was third in the 100 freestyle (56.07) for Marshfield’s top individual finishes.
Stevens Point won six of the 11 events to win the team title with 203 points. Green Bay United was second with 107 points. Marshfield had 72.
Marshfield also had four sixth-place finishes – Scott Thompson in the 200 IM (2:42.85) and the 100 breaststroke (1:17.37), Alec Brenner in the 50 butterfly (32.28) and Calden Wojt in the 100 backstroke (1:08.53).
Marshfield will host D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
