MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield freshman football team improved to 2-1 this season with a resounding 40-22 win over Stevens Point Ben Franklin on Thursday at Marshfield High School.
Marshfield quarterback Will Nikolai accounted for all six Marshfield touchdowns. He had touchdown runs of 1, 7 and 58 yards, and threw three TD passes to Simon Slade totaling 38, 41 and 55 yards.
Seth Peterson added four extra points and Dane Tollefson had a fumble recovery for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s leading tacklers were Michael Wright, Justin Post, Seth Kleinschmidt, Damyon Hains and Tollefson.
Marshfield’s next game is Sept. 21 at Wausau West at 4:30 p.m.
