Spencer softball blows out Colby/Abbotsford

SPENCER – The Spencer softball team scored multiple runs in the first four innings and rolled to a 19-9 win over Colby/Abbotsford in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Wednesday at Spencer High School.

The Rockets (5-13, 3-7 Cloverbelt East) had six hits and took advantage of 12 walks to cruise to the five-inning win, which ended due to the 10-run rule.

Hallie Meyer and Hailey Rucker both had four hits, with Rucker driving in four runs. Meyer and Ema Schultz both scored four times in the win for Spencer.

The Rockets will play Colby/Abbotsford again on Friday at 3 p.m. at Spencer High School, with the Hornets being the home team. Spencer will then take on Owen-Withee at 5 p.m.
