MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield softball team snapped a four-game losing skid with a 7-3 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest Thursday at Madison Field.

Madison Kraus had a sacrifice fly and Lillian Griesbach singled home a run to give Marshfield a 2-0 lead in the third.

The Tigers added four more in the fourth as Madilynn Cole had an RBI double, Ashlyn Barwick had a sac fly, Kraus had an RBI triple and Griesbach followed with another run-scoring single to put Marshfield up 6-0.

Katelyn Sternweis earned the win on the mound, striking out 10 in a complete game as Marshfield improves to 10-11 overall and 5-5 in the WVC.

Marshfield is back in action Tuesday at home against D.C. Everest.
