Rice Lake wins Wisconsin Bantam 2A state hockey tournament at Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Youth Hockey Association hosted the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association Bantam 2A Boys Hockey State Tournament at the Marshfield Youth Ice Recreation Arena this weekend.

The tournament wrapped up Sunday with four games.

Rice Lake won the championship game, beating Kenosha 3-1.

New Richmond beat De Pere 7-1 in the third-place game; Janesville topped D.C. Everest 4-1 in the consolation championship (fifth-place) game; and Fond du Lac shut out Marshfield 9-0 in the seventh-place game.

Earlier, in quarterfinal action Saturday, Rice Lake defeated Janesville 3-1; New Richmond edged Fond du Lac 6-5; Kenosha blanked Marshfield 3-0; and De Pere beat D.C. Everest 3-2.

In the semifinals, Rice Lake went on to beat New Richmond 5-3 and Kenosha toppled De Pere 4-1 to reach the championship game.

In the consolation semifinals Saturday, Janesville beat Fond du Lac 5-4 and D.C. Everest topped Marshfield 4-1.
