MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team opened its Wisconsin Valley Conference season with a bang, rolling past Wausau East 25-19, 25-4, 25-22, on Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

Tiffany Stargardt and Mary Wolff led the Marshfield offense, with 20 kills and 20 assists, respectively.

Mikala Sebastian had six kills and five block kills, and Darian Molter had 31 digs and three service aces for the Tigers.

“We did an excellent job of sticking to our game plan tonight,” Marshfield coach Dawn Sadowska said. “We were extremely pleased to see the girls make comebacks from deficits as well as maintain and finish games when we were ahead.”

Marshfield (16-5 overall) returns to WVC action on Sept. 15 at Stevens Point.
