Spencer volleyball sweeps Neillsville for third straight Cloverbelt win

SPENCER – Tara Matter had 15 kills, Courtney Schulz added eight kills and Dani Johnson had 20 digs to lead the Spencer volleyball team to its third straight Cloverbelt Conference East Division victory, a 3-0 sweep of Neillsville on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Spencer won the match 26-24, 25-20, 25-19.

Aubrie Bissonette added eight kills and Kyleigh Hebert had a team-high 22 assists for the Rockets, who improve to 3-1 in the Cloverbelt East. Neillsville falls to 2-2.

“We played a great team game,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We passed, we set and we attacked. Tara Matter has really elevated her game the past couple of weeks. The seniors really showed their experience and leadership tonight.”

Spencer plays at Colby on Thursday.
