Marshfield girls hockey improves to 3-1 with pair of wins

HUDSON – Paige Johnson scored the only goal the Marshfield girls hockey team would need in a 1-0 win over Hudson on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The first 32 went scoreless until Johnson beat Hudson goalie Nali Mullan at the 15:51 mark of the second period.

The Tigers defense and freshman goalie Alexis Straughan did the rest. Straughan finished with 18 saves to earn her first career shutout.

Marshfield rolled past Tomahawk on Friday, Dec. 9 with a 7-2 victory. The Tigers improve to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Great Northern Conference.

No statistics were provided from the win over Tomahawk.

Marshfield plays at Wisconsin Rapids against Point/Rapids on Friday in another GNC game.
