Spencer boys basketball dominates Neillsville

NEILLSVILLE – The Spencer boys basketball team won its second straight game, routing Neillsville 62-42 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Neillsville High School.

Steven Gilboy poured in 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Rockets (6-5, 4-5 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer jumped out to a 39-20 lead by halftime and cruised from there in the second half.

The Rockets made 21 of 26 free throws and held Neillsville to just 14 of 49 shooting from the field.

Sam Cattanach scored 13 points, making 7 of 8 from the free throw line.

Bryce Backaus scored 13 points for the Warriors (2-9, 1-8 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer hosts Gilman on Tuesday.
