Marshfield boys hockey loses nonconference game at Mosinee

MOSINEE – The Marshfield boys hockey team played from behind for much of the game and was never able to surpass Mosinee, dropping a nonconference game 5-2 on Tuesday night at the Mosinee Rec Center.

Jared Sprink scored twice for Mosinee (9-7-1), including the opening goal 5:28 into the game.

Marshfield tied it 22 seconds later when Bobby Leggon scored on an assists from Schuyler Seyfert, but the Indians pulled ahead for good when Christian Tomski scored at the 12:21 mark.

Sprink added a goal with 39 seconds to go in the second period to make it 3-1.

Seyfert scored off an assist from Leggon 3:48 into the third period, but Mosinee responded with a pair of goals in the final 7 minutes to put away the victory.

Marshfield (8-7) hosts Wisconsin Rapids next Tuesday.
