YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Cale Zuiker, a 2011 graduate of Marshfield High School, recently completed his freshman season on the Youngstown State University men’s basketball team.
Zuiker saw minimal action throughout the season, playing 45 minutes in 14 games. He scored 15 points (5 of 13 shooting, 5 of 11 3-pointers) and added two blocked shots, two steals and two rebounds for the Penguins.
Zuiker had a season-high nine points on 3 of 4 shooting from 3-point range in a game against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Nov. 26.
Youngstown State finished its season with a 16-15 record and a 10-8 mark in the Horizon League. The Penguins posted their most wins and their first winning season since 2000-01.
YSU lost in the second round of the Horizon League Tournament to eventual tournament champion Detroit, 93-76, on March 2.
