FOND DU LAC – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team capped off the UW-Fond du Lac Tip-Off Tournament title with a 65-52 win over the UW-Fond du Lac Alumni team Saturday afternoon.
Corrine Meacham scored 25 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, and Kaitlyn Meffered had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Marauders. Both were named to the all-tournament team.
The Marauders men edged Silver Lake College, a four-year school from Manitowoc, 86-83, to win the men’s championship.
UW-Marshfield rallied from a 52-41 deficit at halftime to pull out the win.
Jesse Bejcek led the charge for the Marauders with 36 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks.
Cain Trunkel added 16 points, Brandon Herr had 12 points and Leo Braun had 11 for the Marauders.
Both UW-Marshfield/Wood County teams will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 10, at UW-Manitowoc. The women play at 1 p.m., with the men’s game at 3 p.m.
