Stratford boys basketball squeaks past Stevens Point Pacelli

STEVENS POINT – Nolan Bargender scored 15 points and Greg Belter had 11 rebounds to lead the Stratford boys basketball team to a narrow 50-48 win over Stevens Point Pacelli on Monday night at Pacelli High School.

Stratford outscored the Cardinals 19-13 in the third quarter to turn a five-point halftime deficit into a one-point lead, then held on at the end to improve to 2-0 this season.

Andrew Marcis added 12 points and Travis Urlaub had 10 points, four assist and three rebounds for the Tigers.

Stratford plays at home against Amherst on Nov. 26.
