STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield boys swim team opened its 2012-13 season by taking second place at the four-team Stevens Point Panther Invitational on Tuesday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Stevens Point won every event to pile up 253 points, with Marshfield taking a distant second with 91 points.
Marshfield had two third-place finishes – Denver Anderson in the 50 freestyle (25.74 seconds) and Evan Schneider in the 50 butterfly (29.41).
Nolan Hall was fourth in the 50 butterfly (29.61), Schneider was fifth in the 200 IM (2:40.91), Anderson took fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:09.99) and Jack Gellerman was fifth in the 500 freestyle (6:58.17) for the Tigers’ other top finishes.
Marshfield is back in action Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Chippewa Falls Invitational.
