Loyal edges Spencer boys basketball by two

SPENCER – Mason Froeba scored a game-high 21 points to lead Loyal to a narrow 44-42 win over Spencer in Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball action Thursday night at Spencer High School.

Spencer led 34-32 after three quarters but couldn’t hang on in the back-and-forth affair. The Rockets fall to 3-4 overall and in the Cloverbelt East, while Loyal moves up to 4-4 and 4-3 in the conference.

Mitchell Susa scored 12 points and Cody Esser hit 5 of 6 shots from the field and scored 10 points for Spencer.

Spencer plays at Neillsville on Tuesday.
