Merrill dominates Marshfield wrestling

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield wrestling team managed just two wins – both by pin – and lost a 61-12 dual meet to Merrill in Wisconsin Valley Conference action Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

Mitch Hertel pinned Cody Nicholson with 42 seconds left in the 145-pound match, and Kane Seubert stopped Benji Hintz in 3:40 for Marshfield’s two victories.

Merrill had five pins and won three other matches by forfeit to account for 48 of its 61 points.

The Tigers (0-2 WVC) compete at the Kimberly Invitational on Saturday.
