Neillsville uses huge third-quarter run to knock off Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball

NEILLSVILLE – Neillsville busted open a tight game with a 24-3 run in the third quarter and defeated Marshfield Columbus Catholic 51-23 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Neillsville High School.

Neillsville, ranked No. 3 in the latest Division 3 state coaches poll, led 19-14 at halftime before the big third-quarter run.

Elizabeth Manlick scored 14 of Columbus Catholic’s 23 points, drilling three 3-pointers.

Columbus falls to 4-4 and 2-3 in the Cloverbelt East, while Neillsville remains unbeaten at 6-0 and 5-0 in the conference.

Jenny Lindner scored 20 points, eight during the third quarter, to top the Warriors.

The Dons play at Colby next Thursday.
