Spencer boys basketball ends five-game losing streak with win over Rib Lake

SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team ended its five-game losing streak, using a 39-23 advantage in the second half to beat Rib Lake 62-48 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Jeremiah Cattanach had 23 points and six rebounds to lead Spencer (5-10). Cattanach made 8 of 13 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range.

The Rockets held a 35-14 rebounding advantage and outscored Rib Lake (5-11) 14-4 from the free throw line.

Rib Lake led 25-23 at halftime before Spencer exploded for 24 points in the third quarter and took a 47-40 lead into the final period.

Joe Meyers added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets.
