Spencer girls basketball team wins fourth in a row, downs Loyal

LOYAL – The Spencer girls basketball team won its fourth-straight game, knocking off Loyal 43-36 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Loyal High School.

Tara Matter had 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Rockets. Spencer is now 8-5 overall and 5-5 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal drops to 10-4 and 7-4 in the conference.

Spencer led 20-19 at halftime and outscored the Greyhounds 23-17 in the second half to maintain its lead.

All eight Rockets that played scored, with Macie Weber adding seven points and Alicia Endreas and Claire Drews each scoring six.

Missy Benz led Loyal with 14 points.

Spencer hosts Gilman next Thursday.
