WAUSAU – The Marshfield JV football team opened its season with a resounding 45-14 win over Wausau West on Thursday at Thom Field.
Nick Hoheisel rushed for 110 yards, and Cesar Ortega and Drew Hanson each scored two touchdowns to lead the Tigers to the win.
Ortega had touchdown runs of 4 and 11 yards, and Hanson had a 2-yard touchdown run and caught a 67-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tyson Slade. Slade also ran for a score for Marshfield.
The Tigers racked up 424 yards of offense.
Craig Lyon led the Marshfield defense with 16 tackles and Nate Beyer had an interception.
