WAUSAU – The Auburndale volleyball team finished 2-1 and placed second at the Wausau West Invitational on Tuesday to open its 2013 schedule.
Auburndale defeated Lakeland 25-9, 25-12, and Wausau West 25-7, 25-13, and lost to Marathon 25-21, 25-23.
Kendra Kundinger had 36 assists in the three matches for auburndale, and had a team-high eight digs against West.
Camille Swart led Auburndale in kills in each match, finishing with 24 overall.
Hannah Castellano had a team-high 17 digs against Marathon and Shannon Yahnke added 16 kills in the three matches for the Apaches.
Auburndale is back in action Tuesday, Sept. 3, with its Marawood Conference opener at home against Edgar.
