PITTSVILLE – The Marathon boys and Chequamegon girls won team titles at the 2013 Marawood Conference Cross Country Meet on Thursday at Pittsville High School.
Andrew Studinski won the boys meet for Marathon in 15:24.6, 10 seconds ahead of Chequmaegon’s Jordan Koski. Studinski’s win helped Marathon edge Chequamegon by two points for the boys championship.
Stratford was fourth and Auburndale eighth among the nine complete teams.
Phil Sersch led Stratford, finishing 10th in 16:35.7.
Jake Hunsberger topped Auburndale, taking 25th in 17:31.9.
The Chequamegon girls edged Phillips by three points for the team title with four runners finishing in the top 11.
Stratford was seventh and Auburndale took ninth.
Auburndale’s Abby Bauer earned first-team all-conference honors by finishing fifth in 15:22.8, 31 seconds off the winning pace of Jessi Krause of Edgar (14:51.9).
Stratford’s Nadia King was 12th to lead the Tigers (15:56.1).
Both Stratford and Auburndale will compete in the WIAA Division 3 sectional meet on Friday, Oct. 25, at Nine Mile Forest in Rib Mountain.
