Stratford boys basketball beats Northland Lutheran to win first game of season

KRONENWETTER – The Stratford boys basketball team snagged its first win of the season, taking down Northland Lutheran 43-33 in a Marawood Conference South Division matchup Tuesday night at Northland Lutheran High School.

The Tigers improve to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the Marawood South. Northland Lutheran drops to 3-3 and 1-3 in the conference.

Stratford trailed 27-26 after the third quarter but pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the Wildcats 17-6.

A.J. Strasser had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Michael Bargender had six points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for the Tigers.

Danny Warden scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Northland Lutheran.

Stratford hosts Edgar on Friday night.
