Coleman edges Stratford in WIAA Division 3 team wrestling sectional semifinal

MANAWA – Coleman won the first five matches, all by pin, and had seven pins in all to defeat Stratford 42-40 in a WIAA Division 3 team wrestling sectional semifinal Tuesday at Manawa High School.

The match started at 145 pounds with a pin by Coleman’s Trevor Seewald and five matches in, through 182 pounds, Coleman went up 30-0.

Stratford won the next two matches but lost the two after that, which clinched the match for Coleman.

Coleman forfeited the final four matches.

Dondrick Tackes had a pin at 220 pounds and Anthony Gliniecki added another at 113 for the Tigers. Kamren Bornbach also had a 11-3 major decision win for Stratford at 195 pounds.

Coleman went on to defeat Crandon 54-27 to advance to the 2014 WIAA State Team Wrestling Tournament in Madison on March 7-8.
