AUBURNDALE – Auburndale held Crivitz to just one basket in the first half and dominated the Wolverines 61-9 in a WIAA Division 4 girls basketball regional quarterfinal Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
Six different Apaches scored in the first quarter as they rolled out to an 18-0 lead.
Cheyenne Karl hit a pair of 3-pointers and Taylor Gotz scored six of her 10 points in the second quarter as Auburndale built an improbable 38-2 advantage by halftime.
Karl finished with a team-high 12 points and Jenna Peplinski added 10 points and five rebounds for Auburndale.
The Apaches pitched another shutout in the fourth quarter, outscoring Crivitz (3-21) 10-0 to complete the win.
Auburndale had 25 steals in the game.
Auburndale (14-9) moves on to a Division 4 regional semifinal at Coleman (20-3) on Friday. Coleman rolled past Stevens Point Pacelli 53-15 on Tuesday.
