Marshfield boys golf third at rainy Nekoosa Invitational

NEKOOSA – The Marshfield boys golf team battled rainy and windy conditions to take third place at the 22-team Nekoosa Invitational at Lake Arrowhead Golf Club.

Baraboo won the meet with a score of 336, with Stevens Point second with a 344 and Marshfield was third with a 356.

Trevor Thomas of Stevens Point was meet medalist after shooting a 5-over par 77.

Josh Berres took fourth with an 82 and Kyle Hoffman was eighth with an 87 for Marshfield’s top finishes.

Craig Serchen added a 93 and Ian Pillai shot a 94 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.

Marshfield’s home meet at RiverEdge Golf Course scheduled for Friday was cancelled due to rain. The Tigers will be back in action Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.
