UW-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball rolls past UW-Fox Valley

MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team jumped out to a quick lead with a strong defensive performance and blasted UW-Fox Valley 60-35 in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference game Monday night at the Marauder Gym.

The Marauders (4-3, 3-1 WCC) led 30-15 at halftime, then scored the first 13 points of the second half to go up by 28.

Marshfield shot 49 percent (26 of 53) and held a 47-38 rebounding advantage. The Marauders rolled despite committing 25 turnovers as they held Fox Valley to 17.5 percent shooting (11 of 63).

Taylor Lynn and Brooke Schultze each had 14 points to lead the Marauders.

UW-Marshfield/Wood County is at UW-Richland on Wednesday.
