LA CROSSE – The Marshfield girls track team picked up a medal Saturday at the 2015 WIAA State Track & Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Senior Ashley Holubets finished sixth in the Division 1 girls 300-meter hurdle finals to claim a state medal for the Tigers.

Holubets finished the race in 45.84 seconds to finish one-quarter of a second out of fifth. Danielle Kohlwey of Holmen won the event in 44.44 seconds, and also won the 100 hurdles title in 14.85 seconds.

Holubets set the school record in preliminaries on Friday with a time of 45.57. She broke her own record of 46.23 that she set at sectionals on May 29.

Sophomore Stephanie Rhodes competed in the high jump and had jump of 5 feet, 2 inches, to finish 18th. Rhodes’ height actually tied for the ninth-best, but ties in the final standings are based on the number of jumps needed to get that height. Khadiya Hollingsworth of Brookfield East won the event with a leap of 5-8.

Senior Martha Kupfer also wrapped up her athletic career for Marshfield, taking 19th in the long jump with a jump of 16-7¼. She placed 15th in the triple jump (35-8½) on Friday.
