STRATFORD – The Stratford football team couldn’t overcome an early deficit and lost a hard-fought 15-13 decision to Edgar in a Marawood Conference game Friday night at Tiger Stadium.

Edgar led 15-0 in the first quarter before the Tigers came back to make a game of it.

Kam Bornbach scored late in the second quarter and Taylor Krall added a 3-yard scoring run in the third to cut Edgar’s lead to 15-13 after a two-point conversion failed and would have tied the game following Krall’s TD.

The Tigers had a chance to win it near the end of regulation but Bornbach missed a 30-yard field goal with 30 seconds to go.

Stratford (3-2, 1-2 Marawood Conference) returns to action Sept. 25 at home against Chequamegon. Edgar is now 5-0 and 4-0 in the Marawood and it as at Tomahawk next Friday.
