CADOTT – Five games, five wins for the Spencer/Columbus Catholic football team.
The Rockets exploded for 30 points in the first quarter and rolled to a 49-13 victory over Cadott in a Cloverbelt Conference game Friday night at Cadott High School.
Jonny Tomke had 102 yards rushing on just five carries, including a 36-yard touchdown, and he also hauled in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Calvin Lenz to lead the way for the Spencer/Columbus offense.
Hunter Luepke have five carries for 61 yards and three touchdowns, and Lenz also tossed a 15-yard TD pass to Noah Zastrow for the Rockets.
Spencer/Columbus racked up 352 yards of offense, 275 coming on the ground.
“Great balance tonight out of our whole team,” S/C coach Jason Gorst said. “Jonny Tomke had a breakout game. Max Johnson and Elijah Welsh are playing guard about as well as it can be played.”
Spencer/Columbus (5-0 overall and Cloverbelt Conference) plays at Eau Claire Regis next Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at Carson Park. Regis is 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference after beating Colby 36-7 on Friday.
