Marshfield girls tennis sweeps doubles matches, beats Merrill

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls tennis team swept all three doubles matches to edge Merrill 4-3 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet Monday at Boson Courts.

The match was a make-up from a match postponed last Thursday due to weather.

The Tigers’ No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Serchen, the No. 2 team of Krishna Patel and Kessa Schreiner, the No. 3 team of Tylene Dierickx and Toni Schmitt, and Ashley Schultz at No. 1 singles all won in straight sets.

Marshfield is now 3-1 in WVC dual meets this season, while Merrill drops to 2-2.

Marshfield’s next match is Tuesday at D.C. Everest.
