MARATHON – Jordyn Fitzgerald shot a season-best 43 for Marshfield at the final Clover Valley Golf League meet of the season Thursday at Pine Valley Golf Course.
The meet was a neutral site, individual invitational, with each school having its players split into groups of 1’s, 2’s, etc., based on their conference results from the six CVGL meets.
Fitzgerald was one shot behind meet medalist Megan Pokrandt of Eau Claire Regis, and one ahead of Cierra Botcher of Wisconsin Rapids and Brooke Tuszka of Stevens Point in the standings.
Marshfield’s Ana Jensen shot a 45 to take fifth. She ended up third in the overall individual standings for the season and was named to first-team all-conference. The top five individuals were named first team all-CVGL, with the next five on the second team and the next five as honorable mention.
Fitzgerald ended up seventh in the standings and was a second-team pick for the Tigers.
Patty Bloczynski had a 57 and Roma Shah shot a 64 as well for Marshfield.
The Tigers will compete at the WIAA Division 1 regional on Sept. 30 at Stevens Point Country Club.
