STEVENS POINT – Marshfield’s No. 1 singles player and No. 1 doubles team qualified for sectionals after reaching the semifinals at the WIAA Division 1 girls tennis subsectional on Monday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Ashley Schultz moved on in No. 1 singles and the Tigers’ No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Serchen also reached the semifinals to qualify for Thursday’s Division 1 sectional meet at Chippewa Falls.
The top four finishers in No. 1 singles and doubles, and the winner of the No. 2 singles and doubles brackets will qualify for the 2015 WIAA Girls Tennis State Individual Tournament in Madison on Oct. 15-17. The top team in the sectional will move on to the 2015 WIAA Girls Tennis State Team Tournament in Madison on Oct. 23-24.
