Newman shuts out Auburndale softball

WAUSAU – Brianna Jehn allowed just two hits and had a triple and an RBI to lead the Wausau Newman Catholic softball team to a 10-0 win over Auburndale on Tuesday.

Kelli Isaacson was 2-for-3 to account for both of the Apaches’ hits. She is hitting .500 for the season in Marawood.

Nicole Nikolay walked seven and allowed six runs in four innings to take the loss for Auburndale, which drops to 4-9 overall and 2-9 in the Marawood Conference South Division. Newman improves to 9-3, 8-3 in the conference.

Christina Grunow was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Jenny Line was 2-for-2 for the Cardinals.

Auburndale is home against Marathon on Thursday.
