Spencer girls basketball routs Gilman

GILMAN – Sydney Kind scored 19 points and Lexi Baehr added 14 as the Spencer girls basketball team rolled past Gilman 54-32 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Thursday night at Gilman High School.

Kind made 5 of 11 3-pointers and Baehr added a pair of makes from long range for the Rockets, who are now 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman drops to 1-5 and 1-4 in the conference.

Spencer shot 49 percent (18 of 37) from the field and made 9 of 17 from 3-point range as it cruised to the win despite making only 9 of 24 free throws.

The Rockets are at Rib Lake on Friday and then off for winter break before returning to action Jan. 5 at home against Neillsville.
