Marshfield baseball blasts Rhinelander

MARSHFIELD – Trevor Schwecke went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs to lift the Marshfield baseball team to a 16-2 rout of Rhinelander in a nonconference game Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.

The win is Marshfield’s third in a row and its record improves to 4-4 this season. Rhinelander is now 3-3.

Marshfield scored in all four of its at-bats, ending the game with a nine-run fourth inning as it won by the 10-run rule after five innings.

Austin Palacek gave up five hits and struck out three to earn the win for the Tigers. He also had a double and two RBIs.

Mason Metz and Braden Bohman each drove in a pair, and Scott Berg and Jake Brueggen each had three hits for the Tigers. Marshfield finished with 16 hits, including five doubles.

Marshfield plays a nonconference doubleheader at Middleton on Saturday.
