SPENCER – Tiffany Meinders threw her second five-inning no-hitter of the year and Spencer swatted two home runs as it rolled past Colby 12-1 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Friday at Spencer High School.

The win clinches at least a share of the Cloverbelt East championship for Spencer, which also won the title a year ago and has now won 25-straight conference games dating back to 2014. The Rockets improve to 13-3 overall and 10-0 in the Cloverbelt East, while Colby drops to 1-12 and 1-9 in the conference.

Jenna Schober hit her first career home run and Lexi Baehr homered for the second-straight day for the Rockets.

Spencer scored multiple runs in all four of its at-bats and Meinders struck out 10 and walk just one to earn the win. Colby’s only run of the game was unearned.

Schober finished 3-for-3 and had three RBIs, and Cinnamin Harwood and Mandie Schultz each had two hits for the Rockets.

Spencer has pulled out of the Gilman/Thorp Tournament on Saturday, so it’s next game is a nonconference affair at home Thursday against Chippewa Falls McDonell. The Rockets will finish their Cloverbelt East and regular-season schedule May 20 with a doubleheader at Loyal.
