Marshfield volleyball finishes 2-1 at home quad tournament

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team went 2-1 at its season-opening Marshfield Quad Tournament on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers lost their opening match to Wausau Newman Catholic 25-20, 25-20, before coming back to beat Merrill 25-17, 23-25, 15-12, and Hudson 25-20, 25-20.

Stephanie Rhodes had 19 kills, 11 digs, and five blocks to lead Marshfield in all three categories. Corianne Johnson had 56 assists, Jamilia Ougayour added six blocks, and Alexa Aumann had 11 kills for the Tigers.

Newman won the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. Merrill finished 1-2 and Hudson was 0-3.

Marshfield will compete at the Sun Prairie Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
