Marshfield girls basketball falls at Eau Claire North

EAU CLAIRE – After the Marshfield and Eau Claire North girls basketball teams played even in the first half, the Huskies exploded for a 46-point second half to beat Marshfield 74-65 in a nonconference game Friday night at Eau Claire North High School.

The game was tied 28-28 at halftime before North pulled away in the second half to send Marshfield to 1-2 this season. North improves to 4-2.

Nikki Kilboten made 11 of 16 field goals to score a game-high 22 points for North. Brianna Banks added 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Ema Fehrenbach scored 16 points and had 10 rebounds for the Tigers. She made just four of 12 shots from the field, but made eight of 10 free throws. Jenna Jakobi also had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Marshfield, making eight of 11 shots.

Marshfield will play Stevens Point as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Tuesday at Marshfield High School to open its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at about 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
