MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic soccer team had its six-game win streak snapped, dropping a nonconference match 2-1 to McDonell/Regis on Tuesday at Griese Park.

Zach Yengo scored 18:24 into the second half to break a 1-1 tie with what proved to be the game-winner.

Columbus and McDonell/Regis tied 2-2 earlier this season at Chippewa Falls.

John Wampler slipped a shot to the bottom right of the net at the 22:51 mark to put the Macks up 1-0.

Evan Dieringer scored off an assist from Nadim Torbey to tie the game for Columbus with just under 10 minutes to go before halftime, but that was all the Dons could get past McDonell/Regis goalie Scotty Wild, who had four saves.

The Dons (13-4-1) return to action Thursday at Wausau Newman Catholic.
