Wisconsin Rapids comes back in second half to beat Marshfield girls basketball

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids came back from a six-point halftime deficit to upend Marshfield 58-48 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls basketball game Thursday night at Lincoln High School.

Marshfield (1-4, 0-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference) led 26-20 at halftime before the Raiders (2-5, 2-1 WVC) dominated the second half to win going away.

Wisconsin Rapids outscored Marshfield 38-22 to pull out the double-digit victory.

Marshfield shot just 29 percent from the field, making only 17 of 58 shots, and also was just 5 of 20 from 3-point range and 5 of 10 at the free throw line.

Jenna Jakobi led the Tigers with 14 points, Meg Bryan added 13 points, and Hannah Meverden had 12 rebounds in the loss.

Maddie Paitel topped Wisconsin Rapids with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Marshfield plays at Merrill on Tuesday.
