Stratford boys basketball tops Edgar

EDGAR – The Stratford boys basketball team completed a season-sweep of Edgar, knocking off the Wildcats 46-33 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Edgar High School.

Stratford (12-3, 8-3 Marawood South) held Edgar (8-6, 5-5 Marawood South) to just 13 points in the first half, took an eight-point lead into the break, and held on in the second half.

Benjamin Barten made 6 of 7 shots from the field and scored a team-high 18 points for the Tigers. He also added 10 rebounds. Vaughn Breit chipped in 11 points, six assists and seven rebounds in the victory.

Stratford has a week off before hosting Wausau Newman Catholic next Tuesday, Jan. 30.
