OSSEO – Spencer/Columbus Catholic won three matches by pin and five others by forfeit to down Osseo-Fairchild/Augusta/Fall Creek 56-18 in the Cloverbelt Conference wrestling dual meet finale for both teams on Thursday night at Osseo-Fairchild High School.
The Rockets finish the Cloverbelt dual meet schedule with a perfect 7-0 record and can complete an overall conference championship at the Cloverbelt Conference Meet on Feb. 3 at Osseo-Fairchild.
Hunter Luepke improved to 40-0 with a pin in just 48 seconds at 220 pounds, and Caden Schilinger (132) and Bryce Shaw (145) also added pins for Spencer/Columbus.
Carson Hildebrandt won by decision at 182 and Caden Schillinger earned a technical fall victory at 160 for the Rockets’ two others wins in matches that were wrestled.
“The matches that we did have tonight, we wrestled very well,” Spencer/Columbus coach Jake Zschernitz said. “It was great to see this group of seniors go out with a conference championship.”
