STEVENS POINT – Ben Baur finished in a four-way tie for fifth place with an 81 to help Marshfield to a fourth-place finish at the sixth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.
Host Stevens Point shot a sizzling 317 to win by 14 shots over D.C. Everest. Wausau West was third with a 332 and Marshfield took fourth with a 349.
Logan Pechinski shot a 3-under par 69 to lead Point and earn medalist honors.
With the fifth-place finish, Baur moves into a tie for sixth place in the overall standings. Marshfield is cemented in fourth in the team standings. The seventh and final meet of the tournament is Friday at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau.
Nate Boson tied for 15th with an 86, Jaxon Bulgrin had an 89, Cole Hanson shot a 93, and Josh Gruen had a 96 for the Tigers.
