MADISON – The 44th annual WIAA State Football Championships will be held Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21-22, at Camp Randall Stadium.
Tickers are available online on the WIAA home page (wiaawi.org) or are available at the Camp Randall Stadium ticket office on the days of the games. Tickets are $10, or $1 for childen 6-years-old or younger.
The Division 7 and 6 games on Thursday, and all three games on Friday will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Wisconsin. The Division 5 and 4 games on Thursday will be on Fox Sports Wisconsin Plus.
Four champions from 2018 are back at state again this season.
Black Hawk/Warren (13-0) will play Edgar (12-1) in the Division 7 title game, a rematch of last year’s championship game that Black Warren won 22-15. Edgar will be appearing in its 13th state finals game, tying Hartland Arrowhead for the most in state history. Edgar won the Division 7 crown in 2016, Division 6 titles in 2009 and 2019, Division 5 championships in 1992, 1999 and 2001, and the Division 4 title in 1979.
Muskego (13-0) is back to defend its Division 1 championship and will take on Bay Port (13-0) at 4 p.m. Friday. This is the first time Bay Port has made it to the state finals.
Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs (11-2) is seeking its third-straight state title when it takes on Eau Claire Regis (13-0) in the Division 6 final. St. Mary’s Springs won the D-6 title in 2017 and beat Stratford in last year’s Division 5 championship game. The Ledgers are in the state finals for the ninth time in the past 11 years, and 12th time overall, having won eight state titles, which is a state record.
Stratford will be looking for its eighth state title as it takes a 13-0 record into the Division 5 final against Lake Country Lutheran (12-1). Stratford won the Division 5 state title in 1986, and earned six-straight Division 6 championships from 2003-2008.
In Division 2, Waunakee is in the state finals for the 10th time in school history and it takes on Brookfield East, which is back at state for the second time having won the D-2 title in 2016. Waunakee won the Division 3 title in 1999 and 2002, and the D-2 championship in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2017.
DeForest will play Menasha in the Division 3 final. DeForest is in the title game for the fifth time, having won the Division 4 title in 1982. Menasha is back at state for just the second time, winning the D-2 state title in 2014.
The Division 4 game will pit unbeaten Kiel (13-0) against Waukesha Catholic Memorial (11-2). Catholic Memorial is making its seventh state finals appearance, having won state titles in 2012, 2016 and last year. Kiel is making its first-ever trip to the state finals.
The Stratford and Edgar games will be broadcast on radio at WOSQ-FM 92.3 and online at wdlbwosq.com, and an audio broadcast will also be available at zaleskisports.com/live-sports.
