WAUSAU – The Marshfield girls swim team won nine of the 11 events, including all three relay races, and defeated Wausau West 91-78 in its 2020 season opener Saturday at John Muir Middle School.
Faith Risa won the 200 individual medley in 2:25.45 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.51, and Courtney Donahue took first in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.87 and the 100 backstroke in 1:08.84 for the Tigers. The two also were part of two winning relay teams for Marshfield.
Hope Risa, Faith Risa, Courtney Donahue and Skylar Onsager won the 200 medley relay in 2:00.85; Lauren Olsweski, Hope Risa, Faith Risa and Alyssa Franks took first in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:12.32; and Abbey Boushack, Donahue, Madalen Bornbach and Onsager was first in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:31.72 as the Tigers swept the relays.
Franks won the 500 freestyle in 6:02.13 and Onsager took first in the 100 freestyle in 58.33 seconds for Marshfield’s other two wins.
Marshfield will be back in action Tuesday against Wausau East. The meet, at Horace Mann Middle School, begins at 5:30 p.m.
