Marshfield girls tennis dominates D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won five matches in straight sets and cruised past D.C. Everest 6-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis dual Friday at the Boson Tennis Complex.

The Tigers (2-1 WVC) swept the four singles matches, three in straight sets.

Sandra Costa needed three sets to earn a win at No. 4 singles 5-7, 6-1, 7-5, while Sydney Newmier at No. 1, Brooklynn Dillinger at No. 2, and Sonia Dissanayake at No. 3 all won in straight sets.

The No. 2 doubles team of Abigail Forst and Emma Tucker won 6-1, 6-1, and the No. 3 team of Loryn Jakobi and Maren Hamill won 6-1, 6-3, also were victorius for the Tigers.

Marshfield will be at Wausau East on Tuesday.
