Wausau East storms back in second half to beat Columbus Catholic boys basketball

MARSHFIELD – Wausau East outscored Marshfield Columbus Catholic by 22 points in the second half to erase a 15-point halftime deficit and earn a 82-75 win in a nonconference boys basketball game Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus Catholic led 45-30 at halftime before East erupted for a 52-point second half to secure a road win.

East is now 3-12 this season, while Columbus Catholic falls to 10-5.

Emmitt Konieczny had 20 points and Cole Noreen 14 for the Dons.

Noah Stroming had 28 points to lead Wausau East.

Columbus Catholic hosts Cloverbelt West leader Fall Creek (14-2, 9-0 conference) in a nonconference game Saturday at 7:15 p.m. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
